About 1968 Dodge Coronet
The Restoration link provides the receipts for the mechanical restoration work completed to the car in 1998 (and some of the estimate sheets). Every major mechanical system has been overhauled and restored. Since the restoration work, the car has been driven less than 500 miles (total of 112,000 miles on the car).
When the engine was rebuilt, the ignition and carburetor were changed to be electronic and the heads were switched to more recent heads (post 1972) to allow the engine to run on standard octane gas. Also, the exhaust was changed to have headers and to be dual exhaust. The engine is the original engine and all numbers match.
Rust is pretty standard for this type of car - nothing significant, just some rust in the rear quarter panels, along the back trunk lid, around the rear glass, and inside the trunk itself.
The passenger side door has more dings and the rear quarter has a deep scratch. Select the Exterior link above to see pictures of the passenger side. The roof on the car is vinyl and is dry rotted and peeling away.
The interior is original and needs work. The dashboard and head liner are in very good condition. Select the Interior link above to see the pictures of the car's interior.
As you can see the car needs some work, but it is a very sound car to work with. The car drives well, so it can be driven away. Currently, the car is stored in a garage in Frederick, Maryland.
